My Year In Videos

I’ve had a lot of spare time on my hands this week, and oftentimes I find myself reading World Racer’s blogs. I enjoy their blogs so much, but I also really enjoy when they post blogs about the fun and interesting things they’ve been doing. So I thought I would take a break from the seriousness of my blogs and show you some funny videos from my trip. There will be a separate one with photos from my trip coming in the near future…it was just way too hard to even get this many videos in one blog post! And I also plan to do separate blogs on certain events of my trip in the future. It might be boring for you, but it helps me so much with processing and my sanity being in the US!

I’m sorry that this seems disorganized and just “slapped together.” I promise you I tried to make this post look more visually appealing…it failed. And it might look like a billion and a half videos, but it’s only 9 and almost all of them are around 30 seconds long!

I hope you get some laughs and also get a taste of what my past year looked like. Enjoy 🙂

P.S. If I were you, I would check out these videos taken by my teammate Garrett Berkley while we were in Mozambique! Sorry that I couldn’t get the videos in the blog, I could only make links for you.

  • Here is a video of Go-go’s dancing at a church service we attended in Guija, Mozambique. There were hundreds of people in this mud building. I either passed out on my lap from lack of oxygen, or took a conveniently timed nap. I “woke up” when my teammates told me church was over.

  • This video is a glimpse of very tame African public transportation. We are on our way back from Guija, Mozambique. This was after we had to change our clothes because our host told us we were “too dirty to ride the bus,” but before the speaker fell off and hit Jenny on the head, 15 additional people hopped in the van, and  them playing random Mozambican music videos of women dancing in leaves for us…Thanks?

  • I love African worship! This song was also a team favorite…as in this was one of the only African songs we knew enough of to sing whenever churches wanted us to sign in Siswati, Shongon, or other languages for them. This was from our first week in Africa, when we worked with the rescued children of the prostitutes of Maputu, Mozambique.

  • Garrett took this one, and I think it’s so funny. The kids at MCV loved us so much and ALWAYS wanted us to play with them. It got to the point that they would try to get through the bars on our windows to play with us. CRAZY!!!

  1. Cait, I really enjoyed looking at the viedos. While you were away I continually waited for your blogs. They were all amazing and it gave me comfort to see how God was working on you. I feel we took this journey with you!! As you now start on your next chapter I see noting but good spilling out of it. Speading the word of God to your local community will most definately feel strong. Anything we can do for you to help you along the next page, you know we are here. I know God has one hand and we will have the other.

    Love,
    DAD
